Life Interrupted!

I have been reading this amazing book called Life Interrupted by Priscilla Shirer. Its amazing! For anyone that feels like life has thrown a curve ball or hasn’t gone how you thought i should(which is all of us) read the book and do the Bible study! I am also doing her Bible study on Jonah that came from Life Interrupted called Jonah: Navigating a Life Interrupted. Both of these materials have been amazing and I cant wait to read and study more. I was reading some of the book today and wanted to post a little excerpt from chapter 3 that I needed to hear. You’ve probably heard something similar to this before, but  just reading it makes me thankful for how faithful God’s plans are for our lives and how his sovereignty is trustworthy.

“Your life and your interruptions have been superintended by the same God who intervened in the Davids and Esthers and Pauls and Jonahs of scripture. Not every interruption was pleasant, of course. Few if any of them, even the good ones, came without extraordinary challenges. And yet that’s what put these people into position for God to tell a story through them they could never have told before.

What if your most compelling story could only be written with the ink of your latest interruption? Would you live to tell it? Or would you defy God for forcing this plotline on you?”

something to think about…

Pete Wilson’s Plan B Lab Notes

I recently attended Catalyst in Atlanta. What an amazing conference. The day before the actual conference starts, they offer labs. We were blessed to be able to go to these. You have free reign to any speaker on the labs list, and it lasts the whole day. When Ben and I were going over who we wanted to go hear, He mentioned Pete Wilson and I knew that out of anyone that I heard that day, he was a definite. I had been sharing with Ben some things that I felt like I was dealing with in my own life, and he was encouraging me to read Pete Wilson’s book Plan B. So when I heard that he was leading a lab, I was there!

The breakout was amazing and I felt like EVERYTHING that was talked about was so real in my own life. I wrote a lot of notes and thought I would share them here:

* “When in the Bible does God ever give anyone an easy job?”

* “God is a lot more concerned with who you are becoming than what you will accomplish.”

* “What would you do if you were absolutely confident God was with you?”

* “Everyone will experience a Plan B at some point in their life. If you stay too long in your Plan A, it is easy to make it beome about your power and not God’s power. We need a Plan B.”

* “My main job in Plan B is to stay connected to God.”

* “Plan B shatters your soul’s arrogance. It’s where we ask God for only what He can do.”

* “It’s not my responsibility to get my self out of my plan B- It’s God’s.”

* “Embrace your current reality and future triumph.”

* “In Plan B, we tend to idolize our dreams. You can’t elevate your dreams above God.”

* “Don’t allow good things to become ultimate things.”

* “God wants to see how we will do in our Plan B.”

* “God is most powerfully present when He seems most absent.”

* “Put your dreams in God’s identity, not His activity.”

Congratulations Mandy & Marcus!!!!

My best friend Mandy IS HAVING A BABY!!!!!!!!!!! I am beyond excited! She and Marcus are going to be amazing parents, and I am beyond 100% sure that this child is going to be GORGEOUS!!!! I was SO excited when she told me that I started tearing with with so much happiness. I love Mandy SO much, so to see something so great happen to someone you love so much, it is just an overwhelming moment!!!! And selfishly, I am excited to be “Aunt Maggie”!!!!!!!!

Watch This!

Ben showed me this last night. Everyone needs to watch this!

Catalyst was INSANE!!!

Catalyst was AMAZING!!! I have been before, but this is the best one by far! It was so good to get away and be at the conference. We attended the labs the day before the conference, and my favorite one that I sat in was Plan B by Pete Wilson. It was exactly what I needed to hear. I don’t want to ever miss Catalyst again! The speakers were incredible. My favorite conference speaker would have to be a tie between Andy Stanley and Perry Noble. Perry Noble is freaking hilarious! And last but not least, when I saw her walk out on stage, I’m not going to lie, I teared up a little. Candi Pearson-Shelton lead worship. She is one of my all time favorite worship leaders! It was awesome!!!

The thing I love about this conference is that Jesus Christ is worshipped in the teaching and music. Such a good time to refuel. Hearing 13,000 people praise our Savior was INCREDIBLE!

My Mom

I always call my parents when I leave church. We talk about how their church was, and vice versa. Well today my Mom made me laugh out loud. I always ask what songs they did. She said, ” There was this one song with a bunch of Ooohs at the end and I really thought an Indian tribe was going to come out during the last part.” I was like “what?” She said, “yeh it just sounded so tribal at the end. I liked it, it just sounded like an Indian war cry.” She asked me if I knew any songs that sounded like this. And as soon as she started describing it, I knew what song it was. It was With Everything by Hillsong. HAHA I love that song, but will never think  the same about the Oohs!

Catalyst!

This is where we will be starting Wednesday!

http://www.catalystconference.com/

We leave tomorrow! I said I was going to pack earlier, but that never happens! I am SO excited about being in ATL for a week, and getting to go to this conference! It’s going to be a blast! See ya in a week!

Sweet Little Guy!

I thought this was SO sweet! Samson has to at least touch a part of me before he can relax. After he does that, he’s good. He’s definitely in a deep sleep here. I was afraid to move my foot! Sweet little guy!
